Most require proof of minimum income ($1,500-$5,000/month), health insurance, and a clean criminal record. Durations range from 6 months to 2 years, and many can be renewed or converted to permanent residency. Tax treatment varies — some exempt foreign income entirely, others tax after 183 days.
