Questions to resolve
Check whether this route fits your plans This permission is for residence without employment or professional activity. Remote work is not permitted under this route: UGE explicitly distinguishes it from international telework permission. If you intend to keep working, compare the international telework route. Prepare documents and means Apply through the Spanish consulate responsible for where you live. The ministry lists the application form, a full passport copy with at least one year's validity, criminal-record evidence, a medical certificate, authorised health insurance and proof of sufficient resources. Monthly means are 400% of IPREM for the principal and 100% per accompanying family member. Confirm the current euro amount and family-specific document list with the competent consulate. These resources are not a government fee. Foreign public documents may require sworn translation and legalisation or an apostille, subject to applicable exemptions. Plan collection and arrival The ministry describes an initial one-year residence authorisation starting on entry. It gives one month from notification to collect a granted visa, and one month after entry to request the foreigner identity card (TIE). Confirm the issued visa's entry deadline and the consulate's instructions before booking travel; visa validity and residence duration are different. Keep application charges, translations and legalisation costs separate from your living budget.
