Investor Residence Permit

The country offers clear and structured pathways for legalizing one's stay. Applying for a residence permit in Mongolia can be done within 21 days after arrival by submitting documents to the authorized immigration authorities.

Residence by investment (RBI) is a legal immigration pathway that allows foreign nationals to obtain a residence permit by making a qualifying investment, such as purchasing real estate, investing in funds, creating a business, or donating to approved projects.

Foreign ownership of "immovable property" is allowed in Mongolia, although ownership of land by foreignors is not. The owner of an apartment is issued an apartment ownership certificate which is the same as local residents' certificates. This certificate can be sold or even used as collateral with banks.
