€500,000 in an existing company (registered office in Luxembourg), which is required to be held for five years. €500,000 in a new business (registered office in Luxembourg), which needs to employ five employees within three years of being incorporated.

Contribute at least €3 million to a management and investment structure. Make at least a €20 million deposit into a Luxembourg financial institution. This deposit must be maintained for at least five years.

Americans can currently stay in Luxembourg up to 90 days visa-free (ETIAS starts in late 2026), but long-term relocation requires a Type D visa + residence permit. Luxembourg has progressive income tax of 0% – 42% (+7% – 9% surtax), but US citizens often reduce double taxation using FEIE or foreign tax credits.

The Luxembourg Residence by Investment Program grants residence to individuals and their families through significant economic contributions to the country.
