The process to obtain Czech citizenship through your ancestry is fairly simple, but you'll need to collect certified vital records for yourself, your parents, and your grandparents that prove your Czech roots, which can take several months.

The whole application process in Czech language. In simple cases, where all documents are provided correctly, it usually takes a minimum of 6 - 9 months to be able to apply for Czech passport. More complicated cases take usually more than a year as minimum time needed.

Czech Republic emigrants and their direct descendants (e.g. children and grandchildren) may apply for Czech Republic citizenship in some circumstances. The key requirement is that both paternal grandparents were born in the Czech Republic, and the relevant parent(s) or grandparent(s) do not need to still be alive.
