Norway has no visa for working remotely for a foreign employer. The closest route is the residence permit for self-employed persons (independent contractors), which requires a contract to carry out an assignment for a business in Norway and a state application fee (about NOK 6,300 - it is not free). Applicants must show the business will generate sufficient income; confirm the current threshold with UDI.
Norway's Skilled Worker Permit is available to qualified professionals with a confirmed job offer from a Norwegian employer. Income must meet the minimum threshold set annually by the Norwegian government.
